Fitness Pilates 2 day Training Course

The Fitness Pilates Training certification and workshops have been designed by Rachel Holmes as a cost effective, group fitness class option based on the Pilates technique. Rachel has written and taught 7 Fitness Pilates workshops which she has presented nationwide to over 2500 group exercise Instructors. The 2 day certification course is designed for fully qualified Instructor and Personal Trainers to train in the technique and teach a group fitness variation of Pilates. Fitness Pilates is not remedial, diagnostic or clinical. It is not physiotherapy and is not a specialised back care programme, Its is a fitness based class utilising the principals of Pilates and modified versions of the original Pilates mat work exercises coupled with up to date exercise prescription and research.

What is Fitness Pilates

Fitness Pilates is a modern, research based group fitness class created for the apparently healthy adult. It is neither remedial, clinical nor is it designed for rehabilitation. Fitness Pilates utilizes all of the principals and includes many of the matt work exercises in traditional Pilates, but further offers modifications, diversifications and updated exercise prescription to provide a controlled body conditioning program appropriate for the general public.

How does it fit in with other Pilates Programs

Fitness Pilates is a complimentary class aimed at all levels, ages and abilities. It is general level incorporating  basic Pilates techniques and exercises in a non intimidating and easy to follow way. Fitness Pilates is designed to sit along side clinical Pilates sessions and small group classes whose aim is rehabilitation therefore becoming an excellent feeder class for members wanting a more specialized form of Pilates.  It is a cost effective way of training that includes marketing and business ideas to help you set up and prosper in this area. Ultimately, it is custom designed and targets YOU. Every exercise, sequence, structure and lecture on the course has been thoroughly tried and tested.

Who is Fitness Pilates for

Fitness Pilates training is for forward thinking, open minded qualified instructors. FP is an integrated training program that incorporates familiar fitness principals.  It is not rigid or regimented, it offers options and choices, is backed up by modern research and focuses directly upon your demographic and market. The training is thought provoking and provides the first step on the ladder of integrated fitness with Pilates learning. As a student on the course you are encouraged to explore different ways to perform, teach and coach FP exercises arming you with the tools to design a successful and personalized group fitness class that offers your clients specific fitness results and health benefits

Questions and Answers for Fitness Pilates

I have never done Pilates before but I am a fully trained ETM teacher with Insurance

This is exactly the reason I created Fitness Pilates. It will teach you all of the basics and go over all over the exercises indepth enabling you to put together a class and offer progressions and adaptations.

I know Pilates attracts people with back problems will I be taught how to integrate these people into my mainstream class

Fitness Pilates is not cut price physiotherapy. I advise you not to take clients with severe back or postural problems. Clients can only attend once medical clearance has been given by a medical professional. A group exercise class is not the place for someone with severe back problem. Fitness Pilates is not a diagnostic programme. You are not taught how to "treat" "cure" or "diagnose"anyone with a back complaint.

Does Fitness Pilates offer REPS credits

Yes it has 16 REPS credits under the Core Fitness Code

Am I fully Insured once I have passed Fitness Pilates

You need to have a current ETM (Exrcise to Music) or level 2 qualification and up to date Insurance and once you pass you are insured. The course has been examined closely by Cyril Cooper Insurance Brokers and Fitness Professionals and has been acredited with 16 REPS points for 2007/2008 under the Core Fitness Code

Can you recommend any Videos or DVD's I may order that may help me before I come on the course

Hi Rachel thanks for a fantastic weekend, you taught me so much i am really looking forward to taking this out into my community. It has shocked me how quickly FP can change your posture so quickly because i am holding myself and walking differently already. i Look forward to the next course whatever that might be.

"I was really sceptical about coming on the course and how much I would learn in 2 days but I was amazed Rachel teaches you in such a way that everything is so clear and makes so much sense I have already started 4 classes in the community and they all have waiting lists" Caroline Derbyshire

"I couldn't make my mind up weather to do the course or not as I had never done any Pilates before. I booked on and passed and haven't looked back I feel confident about Fitness Pilates and I am being asked to do classes in all of the venues I teach. It was well worth it. Thanks Rachel for your patience and helping me through the 2 days" Claire Summerfield

"I have completed several Pilates courses but Fitness Pilates was by far the best, its so useful and practical" Jo King

Hi Rachel,
Thanks for a great course over the last two weeks. Nice to attend a course where regimented barriers are broken down to give members of the public the the type of class they want to have instead of fashion lead trends. Really enjoyed the the structure and presentation. Have a few more people interested so have passed your web details on" Jerry McDonnell

Hi Rachel,

thank you so much for a fantastic two days in Nottingham on the fitness
pilates course, and thank you most of all for sending me home on cloud nine!
You encouraged us all so much and taught us with such enthusiasm that it
had to rub off on us sooner or later! After reading your comments on my
feedback form i felt so good and i have bounced around in all of my classes
this weekend(everyone kept asking what i was on!) as well as feeling that i
had learnt something I also feel like I have had a confidence make over
....... Gok Wan should watch out. Not sure if you have seen the programme how
to look good naked but gok is the presenter and you have done for me what he
does for the women on his show" Michaela Lees

Hi Rachel,
Just wanted to say how much I enjoyed the update course yesterday. Yet again lots of new material that I will be able to use. Started this morning in by body conditioning class using some of the dance type sequences and added light hand weights just to challenge balance further. Tonight we used the mini balls in pilates (cannons do body vive and balls are ideal) and all seemed to enjoy. Luckily it was the old regulars which made it easy, might be a bit more challenging in weeks to come. Keep up the good work, give yourself a pat on the back and hope to see you soon.

P.S. My hamstrings hurt!
