After getting back from a few days away its pretty much back to the grindstone. I've just about finished all of the tour choreography now so it'll be filming the DVD's next week and getting the notes printed, during my regular classes this week have been tweaking the HiLo choreography but I am loving the Fitness Stepping stuff it seems to be going down really well.
My other baby at the moment is working on class packages and ideas for encouraging secondary schools into using Fitness Instructors to come in and do Group Fitness classes. I am making inroads locally and hoping to put a blue print together for other teachers to help them move into this worthwhile area, after years of teaching 5 - 12 year olds and FitKid clubs for the younger ones I have decided to specialise in teens 12 - 16, I personally enjoy working with this age group so much more more and  am modifying Fitness Pilates to be suitable for this age group as well as Street Dance and Body Conditioning so I'll keep you posted with developments as they happen

Have a great week

Much love

Monday

Hey Guys

I just had a few days away from the PC for a little rest and recuperation so back today firing on all cylinders!!! After wading through all the emails and orders and telephone messages I will be back with loads of new stuff on the site this week!!! I have had really good feedback on the audio chat which is great so I'll have a few more interviews and chats with other presenters on the site really soon plus new choreography downloads and articles plus a new redesigned home page.

Ill post and update on the Blog tomorrow and finish answering any forum questions tonight after I have taught CardioSculpting, Fitness Pilates  and a Fitness Pole Dance session although everyone in my area seems to be on holiday this week!!!

Have a great day!!

Regards

Saturday 21 July
Hi everyone

Its been quite an office based week so far for me despite the heat outside. I've been completing different articles for various fitness mags and publications, if you have been reading the forum you will know its the woman's media that's been getting me all fired up this week. Just about every newspaper or lifestyle show on the box has been involving some kind of ludicrous way to loose 1 stone in 1 minute or, the best one yet, has to be lying on a couch having mud painted over your belly and having electric shock treatment at the same time via slender tone pads will flatten your belly. Perhaps we should all stop teaching exercise classes and just open up group fitness mud and slendertone classes, I bet we would have full classes despite the heat ehhh!!!........ As everyone has been experiencing this week community class numbers have been madly unpredictable, for me Fitness Pilates still had decent numbers most evenings and my community step class on Thursday managed 15 in an un air conditioned hall, so you just don't know. Daytime classes at Holmes Place and David Lloyd have been good but the kids in this area haven't broken up yet so I imagine when that happens numbers will dive.

On a personal level been practising lots of new pole stuff, Im wanting to incorporate different styles into the routines like salsa and hip hop to give combinations a more edgy feel. Its coming slowly. I'm also going to continue with the comment on media articles, so if you see anything fitness/exercise related let me know. After months of working with REPS on getting Fitness Pilates sorted I'm trying to brainstorm more variations and class ideas for the programme, I keep coming up with things and running it by my physio friend and trying it in classes..... some ideas work great....others not so well received.  I'll keep you posted with how it all goes.

 Bye for now

New bits and bobs - Sat 15 July 2006
Hi Everyone
Looking forward to having the weekend off teaching, but will be working on
more technical bits for the sites. Jayne and I have made our first audio chat
and it turned out great, I need to tweak a few bits but we can discuss all
kinds of fitness related topics and record lectures and interviews with other
presenters and fitness companies so I am hoping this addition to the site will
be well received. Its a bit squeaky!!! But I think I can iron that out

Heres a link so let me know what you think.

Please post your comments or you can email me direct mailto:
mailto: RachelLHolmes@aol.com

And heres some more software I have been playing with. This is me teaching my
Thursday morning HiLo in Nottingham, its one of my fav classes of the week.
The sounds not great as the studio is quite echoy
Click here for my class video

Watch out this weekend for other extras that I will post on the forum or here in the BLOG.

Have a great weekend

Love
Rachel xx

Monday 10th July
Hi

After the close of my B C Blast tour last week its great to have weekends back, not having to do the miles up and down the M1 and generally kick back and catch up with friends and family. I decided to have a couple of days away from the PC over the weekend and not log on which is a fab but C2Go is like the shop that never closes so 2 days generates a massive amount of emails to answer and updates to do. Its a scary fact but I am now planning dates and workshops for 2007 which I always find hard and booking up your time, so far in advance is always a worry as there are always weddings/christenings/birthday parties that pop up much later and I have to miss or come late as I have a masterclass or workshop on that day.

I am really inspired by Carolines Olivers children's project and also Liz Hindley who you will read about in this weeks newsletter who also has a great and innovative kids project up and running, I love hearing about fitness initiatives and business ideas from members, its great to bounce ideas around and knowing how other Instructors have approached schools and being able to give example to head teachers of how we can be involved is useful.

Its still all happening on C2Go still with lots of innovative things coming to fruition and a new home page which should launch in the next few weeks.

Have a great week

Best wishes

Sunday 2 July

This week it seems like Jayne and I have, at last, climbed a massive mountain by gaining REPS credits for our Fitness Pilates and Freestyle Fitness Yoga programmes we have been submitting and resubmitting our manuals and information back and forth since November!! Can you believe that. Apparently the 24 credits we have been awarded will change to 16 on January 1st 2007 as all courses will come under new alignment guidelines though but its still a major high for both of us. I have also gained credits for Fitness Pilates Progress workshops and my Choreography workshops.

Yesterday concluded the last of the Body Conditioning Blast tour dates in Chelmsford. It was a packed class with little air conditioning, 28 degrees outside, the M25 was like a car park and England played at 4. So to put it mildly I was up against it!!! I think most people longed to be sitting in the garden watching the footy with a beer but we battled on. I drove home on an empty M25 /M1 listening to the football on 5 Live....which as you all know was a major disappointment!!!

I'm still busy teaching Fitness Pole Dancing in my little home studio and will be launching more Aqua choreography videos on line next week plus live masterclass webcast very soon.

Have a great week.

Bootcamps and Football

Hi Everyone

With the heat and the football its been an up and down few days class wise. My community class numbers have held steady, so far, but I do anticipate a drop on Thursday due to England playing at 5 and my CardioSulpting Class being at 6 and Fitness Pilates at 7pm but we will see, everyone says that they will still be attending...... So we will see!!

Another packed house at Bristol last Saturday it was a great Body Conditioning Blast workshop with such a fit group of Instructors all willing to really to go for it and enjoy the choreography and class ideas. Driving back to Nottingham at 330pm on Saturday afternoon was so strange with absolutely no one on the road, the 21/2 hour journey only took 13/4 hour as the whole of the UK seemed to be watching the match!!

All my dates are now booked and the flyer is in print for my Autumn Choreography Tour. 4 Masterclasses including HiLo2Go, Fitness Stepping, Sizzling salsa and LBT 06 will be packed with choreography ideas for this 13 date tour. I like to offer my C2Go regulars an initial discounted offer in the first week of promo and already some of the dates are filling up. Who ever said freestyle is dying!!!! No way. More and more teachers are looking for  new class and choreography ideas all of the time!!!

I am also working hard on my latest local project: Fatburning Bootcamps and Seminars for Woman. I aim to put on special 4 hour Bootcamps containing exercise classes, eating for fat lose lectures and tips and tricks session for woman wanting to achieve fitness, health and well being. I'll keep you posted with how it all goes.

Have a great week and enjoy the sunshine

Regards
