Online Course Content
Unit 1 Anatomy and Physiology
To be filled in on the Active IQ website. You are asked to read a section and answer a worksheet on what you have read.
2. Unit 2 Preparing a physical activity session for5 – 15years
Complete the Candidate Achievement Record which includes
PARQ
Session Plan Introduction
Session Plan
Accident / Incident Worksheet – (if an accident does not occur then this can be a what if scenario)
Film an activity session. Instruct a 30minute session. Fulfilling the summative assessment checklist (found in the candidate achievement record) Covering all of the criteria in the observation checklist.
Candidates are then required to observe or assist with the delivery of a physical activity session for children. Reflecting on their experience during these sessions they then complete the reflective practice worksheet.
3. Sit an invidulated multiply choice exam.

The course cost is £320 plus VATand includes all course materials/tutor support.
Once you have registered you will receive a confirmation letter with course details and log in information for the Active IQ website.

1. Is the theory hard?
You are asked to read a passage of text on the website and then are asked questions about this. The theory is all related to under 5′s anatomy and physiology.
2. Do I need to find a group of children to work with?
Yes as you will need to film yourself teaching a group of 5 – 11years for your DVD assessment and also watch another Instructor teaching a group for the reflection part of your course.
3.Where will I find a group?
Contact schools, Sure Start Centres in your area.
4. Is there a time limit to complete the course?
No you work at your pace.
4. Will I be assigned an online tutor to help me if I get stuck?
Yes you will be assigned a tutor which will Nicola Swithenbank.
5. May place of work would like to pay for me can I invoice you?
Yes please email me with your details. Course details will only be forwarded when full payment is made.
6. How many REPs points does this course get?
20 Points and it is a Level 2 course
7. Is the course nationally recognised?
Yes. Please check the ActiveIQ.co.uk (awarding body) website for details.
8. Will I be insured when I have been passed
Yes you will forward your certificate onto your insurance provider. Choreographytogo advises using the FITPRO insurance scheme

There are no specific pre-requisite qualifications, but there is an element of communication (discussing, presenting, reading and writing) involved, and candidates should have basic skills in communication pitched at Level 2.
It is highly recommended that candidates undergo a Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check prior to commencing the course.
