Here’s a January Fitness Pilates Theme Pack you can weave into mat, reformer, heated or classic Fitness Pilates classes. It’s designed to feel grounded, purposeful and achievable — ideal for the reset energy of January without overwhelm.
JANUARY PILATES THEME
RESET • REALIGN • BUILD
January intention:
A calm, strong reset — focusing on consistency, quality movement and reconnecting to the body.
BREATH CUES FOR JANUARY CLASSES
Use these throughout warm-up, mobility, strength and cool-down.
Grounding Breath (Warm-up)
- “Inhale through the nose, expanding the ribs.”
- “Exhale slowly, softening the shoulders and jaw.”
- “Feel the body settle and arrive on the mat.”
Stability & Control (Core + Strength)
- “Inhale to prepare.”
- “Exhale to connect gently through the centre.”
- “Use the breath to support the movement, not force it.”
Effort Without Tension
- “Exhale on the effort, keeping the breath smooth.”
- “Strength without holding, control without gripping.”
Release & Reset (Mobility / Stretching)
- “Inhale to create space.”
- “Exhale to release tension and soften the body.”
- “Allow the breath to slow you down.”
Closing Breath
- “Inhale, feeling length through the spine.”
- “Exhale, letting the body feel heavy and supported.”
