Course Overview

We are proud to launch the new YMCA Level 3 Certificate in Instructing Studio Reformer: Groups, developed by YMCA Awards to meet the growing demand for qualified reformer instructors in a group setting.

Who Is This Course For?

This qualification is designed for instructors who:

• Already hold the Level 3 Pilates Matwork Diploma.

• Do not yet hold Level 3 Pilates Mat: we offer a package combining the Active IQ Level 3 Pilates Mat Diploma with the YMCA Level 3 Reformer Certificate. Learners will complete Matwork first.

What You Will Learn

By completing this course, you will be able to plan, deliver, and evaluate safe and effective group reformer sessions. The course covers:

• Applied anatomy and physiology for Pilates and yoga professionals.
• Practical skills to deliver group reformer classes with confidence.
• Techniques for cueing, progression, and modification.
• Exercise analysis and programming specific to the reformer.

Assessment Requirements

To complete the qualification, you will:

• Teach a class with a minimum of 6 participants on reformers.
  • Option 1: Attend an assessment day in our Derbyshire studio.
  • Option 2: Submit a filmed session at your own location.
• Complete:
  • Anatomy & physiology Q&A (specific to Pilates and yoga professionals).
  • Presentation and exercise analysis worksheet.
  • Personal practice and recorded session submission.
  • Observed teaching assessment.
  • Professional discussion.

Course Delivery

• 1 day face-to-face in Derbyshire.
• One-to-one online tutorials via Zoom with Kelly and Rachel.
• Full tutor support, course materials, and assessment guidance included.
