    Summer Solstice Reading For The End Of Class

    🌞 Summer Solstice Closing Meditation & Reading – 7 to 10 minutes 🌞

    For use at the end of a Fitness Pilates class (lying in supine relaxation or seated position)


    🕐 0:00 – 1:30 | Guided Breathwork: Nasal Breathing & Lengthening the Exhale

    Let’s begin by drawing attention to the breath.

    Inhale gently through the nose for 4 counts…
    Exhale slowly through the nose or mouth for 6 counts…
    Let’s do that again.
    Inhale 2…3…4.
    Exhale 2…3…4…5…6.

    Allow the body to soften into the mat.
    Relax your jaw, your shoulders, your hips.
    Feel the support of the earth beneath you.

    Now return to a natural nasal breath. Feel your ribcage expand with each inhale, and gently fall with each exhale.


    🕑 1:30 – 3:30 | Grounding and Setting the Intention

    The Summer Solstice marks the longest day of the year — the sun at its highest point in the sky. A time of light, expansion, and transformation.

    In nature, this is the season of growth, energy and full bloom.
    Just as the sun nourishes the earth, it nourishes us too.
    So we pause to honour this moment — this turning point in the year — and in ourselves.

    Bring to mind something you’re ready to let go of… and something you’re ready to welcome in.

    Inhale light, strength, possibility.
    Exhale tension, doubt, old stories.


    🕒 3:30 – 5:30 | Solstice Reflection

    This is a time to stand still in the light.
    To reflect on what has blossomed in your life so far this year — and what still wants to emerge.

    Ask yourself:

    • What have I accomplished or overcome so far this year?
    • What brings me energy, joy, and light right now?
    • What do I want to nurture and grow in the coming season?

    You don’t need the answers right now. Just hold space for these thoughts with curiosity and kindness.


    🕓 5:30 – 7:30 | Visualisation and Reconnection

    Now, gently visualise the warm summer sun glowing above you.
    Imagine its rays shining down on your face, your heart, your entire body.
    Filling you with energy, clarity, and calm.
    Let this light reawaken your inner fire — your purpose and your joy.

    Take a final moment to reconnect to your breath…
    Inhale strength…
    Exhale softness…


    🕔 7:30 – 9:00 | Closing Words

    As we close our time together, know that the Solstice reminds us we are cyclical, just like nature.
    There is a time for growth and action, and a time for rest and stillness.

    May you carry this sense of balance with you into your day, your week, your summer.

    May you feel energised, clear, and confident.
